[WORLD LUPUS DAY 2016]
Did you know that May 10th is World Lupus Day? Lupus affects nine times more women than men. Among the ways lupus cannot be predicted is it strikes at any age, with little racial or ethnic preference. By learning the symptoms of lupus, a rare autoimmune disorder, we are able to lead ourselves to a correct diagnosis at an earlier age. At least 4 of the 11 following criteria present for lupus diagnosis:
Butterfly rash, discoid rash, photo sensitivity, oral or nasal ulcers, joint pain, kidney disorder, blood disorder, immune disorder, and positive antinuclear antibody.
While lupus knows no boundaries, knowing all you can about lupus can help control its impact.
Don't let lupus get you down. You are stronger than lupus.
Support. Fight. Cure.
